Freeverse Releases Kill Monty 1.1 at Macworld Expo

Macworld Expo -- January 18th, 2008 -- Freeverse today announced a cool, new update to the thrilling arcade-shooting game, Kill Monty. Kill Monty 1.1 is now fully Universal for both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Other new features include a new "Assault" gameplay mode, an online high score list, and a complete rebalancing of the weapons. This pulse-pounding finger-banger just got even more exciting.

About Kill Monty:

In the fine tradition of such extinction-level events as asteroid impacts, supernovas and the Lynne Spears Parenting Guide, Freeverse proudly gives you Kill Monty, the game that spanks your adrenal gland and makes you call it “Papi”.

With multiple levels of non-stop shooting and bucket after bucket of red, um, food coloring, (we have our family-friendly image to maintain after all), Kill Monty is the perfect quick-gaming fix.

The story features exactly two words, so it won’t over-tax your higher cerebral function or be an impediment to our
literacy-challenged customers. After you’ve tried the demo and purchase the game, you’ll get access to the flame thrower (which throws flames) and the rail gun (which guns rails…) or something. It’s super cool and it’s only for the Mac!

A full demo of Kill Monty is available for download from Freeverse's website, and the game is sold for $19.95 from the Freeverse online store.

Features:
* Unlockables!
* Spreadshot, Machine Gun, Laser, Grenades, insane Armageddon X Laser, and more!
* Zombie Monkeys, Evil playing cards, Jared!
* Carnage Meter
* Wave upon Wave of endless gratuitous action!

What's New:
Universal Binary build
Online high scores
New "Assault" gameplay mode, mixing nonstop carnage with speedrunning. Kill as much as possible before time runs out! Killing bosses or picking up a 1-up gets you 15 extra seconds, but die, and you lose 30 seconds.

Gameplay balance changes:
Grenades now do 5x more damage
Flamethrower does 3x more damage (but no longer passes through enemies)
Railgun does more damage and fires faster at higher levels
Armageddon X Laser now has a score bonus. Think of it as Star Power, only with more death

State of the art OpenGL graphics and a killer soundtrack from Digital Droo dazzle the senses, while the built-in online scoring lets you mock your friends as you beat their hi-scores like a Bulgarian circus monkey. Dodge the forces of entropy by stopping time or activating your hyper thrusters.

Sound Studio Reviewed By Macworld Magazine, Receives 4.5 Mice

Macworld has just reviewed Sound Studio 3.5.5, and we were thrilled to see that they awarded it 4.5 out of 5 mice!

"The Mac has more than its share of capable sound editors, but until now, not one has stood out to me as a go-to tool for everyday tasks.

...Falling squarely in between those products, Sound Studio 3.5.5 finally fills the role of the long abandoned and much loved Macromedia SoundEdit 16 (which never made it to OS X). Sound Studio is an easy-to-use program for recording, editing, and applying effects to digital audio that can be used for everything from podcasting to digitizing those old cassette tapes and vinyl records you have lying around in the basement.

...Sound Studio 3.5.5 is an easy-to-use tool that fits smoothly into your daily workflow without requiring a degree in audio engineering. It’s a good tool to reach for when it comes time to produce a podcast, record the local garage band, or resurrect a noisy recording from the past."

Please be sure to recommend the story if you like it!
