Sound Studio 3.0.2 Universal Binary Available

Freeverse announces the immediate availability of Sound Studio 3.0.2 Universal Binary version.

This new version, in addition to numerous feature improvements and bug fixes is fully tested on the latest shipping Intel Mac hardware.

Changes from previous version:

Added Core Audio File (CAF) format support to allow Sound Studio temp files to be opened.
Added warning alert for when saving to a file format that doesn't save marker information.
Added AppleScript support for cut, copy, paste, clear, and mix paste commands.
Added "factory presets" support.
Changed saving in 16-bit PCM format to use triangular probability distribution function dithering.
Changed time readouts and ruler to use minutes (") and seconds (') marks instead of colons (:).
Fixed AppleScript "sdef" file so it does not crash Cocoa scripting and Script Editor. Removed "Insert Noise" AppleScript command.
Fixed AppleScript dictionary bug in equalize command.
Fixed Audio Unit bug with mono and multichannel audio selections, and latency issues.
Fixed default bitrate for AAC (was 96k, now is 128k).
Fixed display bug on large files at 1:1 zoom level when the window shows more than 17 million samples.
Fixed new document at launch behavior to reflect preferences.
Fixed bug with marker positions when changing tempo with the "Pitch and Tempo" filter.
Fixed bug with Flanger and Chorus which resulted in clicks in output.
Redesigned main window and Input Levels window with new buttons.
Universal binary tested on Intel Macs.

Freeverse and iDevGames Announce Winner of Original Mac Games Cup!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- JANUARY 13th, 2006 -- Freeverse is proud to announce that Escort Wing, by William Hogben and Stephen Johnson has won the first OMG Cup! Second prize goes to Matt Diamond for Pawns and third place is awarded to Will Thimbleby for Tracktor Beam.



The OMG Cup is a new game programming contest established by iDevGames (www.idevgames.com), in connection with Freeverse (www.freeverse.com), to encourage unique Mac game development. The challenge of the contest was to create innovative Mac OS X games that emphasize engaging gameplay—in only six weeks. A distinguished panel of industry-leading professional game developers, artists, and software engineers, selected the three winners based on a combination of gameplay, originality, and overall presentation

FREEVERSE TO BRING UBISOFT’S HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC V TO THE MACINTOSH
