NEW YORK, NY -- Back in May of 1994, a young man named Ian Lynch Smith was enjoying the success of his shareware card game, Hearts Deluxe. He decided to incorporate, and Freeverse Software was born.
Ten years later, Freeverse is alive and thriving more than ever. With over forty titles released and a pool of experienced programmers, Freeverse is one of the busiest and most innovative Macintosh gaming companies.
"I couldn't be happier to have aged ten years while sitting in pretty much the same seat focusing exclusively on monkeys." says Ian Lynch Smith, President of Freeverse Software.
As part of the 10th Anniversary festivities, Freeverse is soliciting customers for feedback on their experiences with the company over the last ten years. Both positive and negative feedback is sought, and each valid survey response will receive a thank you gift. Ten surveys will be randomly selected to receive a free game of their choice.
The survey is available until June 12th at:
http://www.freeverse.com/survey04/
Also, Freeverse plans on releasing a 10th Anniversary DVD within the next few months. The data DVD will contain over 2 GB of Freeverse games, toys, audio files, artwork, plugins, pictures, and other rarities. Pricing and availability will be announced in the coming weeks.
About Freeverse
Headquartered in New York City, Freeverse Software has been a developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment products for Mac OS since 1994.
We've updated Big Bang Chess to version 1.021. This update fixes a variety of bugs:
Today, we're happy to announce the release of a new free board game - Big Bang Chess.
What is Big Bang Chess? It's the start of a whole new universe of casual gaming. Visually stunning and featuring incredibly tight integration with Apple technologies, Big Bang Chess lets you enjoy a casual game within the context of all the great technologies and programs (like iChat, iTunes, Address Book, and Rendezvous) that make using Mac OS X such a pleasure.
Besides being a beautiful OpenGL chess game, Big Bang Chess features Rendezvous LAN play, Play-By-Email capability, easy to use iChat game sharing and hosting, and direct connection abilities. Best of all, it's free.
Big Bang Chess requires OS X 10.3 or better, and is a 10 MB download. It's available today from our download page. We hope you enjoy it, and stay tuned in the future - there just may be more Big Bang games down the road!
NEW YORK, NY -- Freeverse Software today announced a sale for those gamers who are still looking for the perfect Mother's Day gift. The sale provides a discount of $5 on an assortment of Freeverse's Mom-friendly games, including the popular 3D Spades Deluxe, 3D Bridge Deluxe, and X-Words Deluxe.
"Let's face it, a lot of us spend a lot of times playing computer games and getting mother-induced guilt for being recluses," said Dan Dickinson, Freeverse CTO. "What better way to bridge this parent-child digital divide with your Mom than by playing a network game? Our quick market research shows that most mothers don't enjoy World War 2 first person shooters, but many enjoy a good game of cards or crosswords."
Orders can be placed at the Freeverse Store.
Fine Print: Sale prices do not require a coupon and are available for both Mac and PC. Spades and X-Words discounts are for electronic registrations only.
We've just released a 30 day trial for our new children's web browser, BumperCar. The demo is not crippled in any way, but will overlay the word "Trial" upon all browser windows. Also, this demo does not include any of the full version's bundled games.
The download clocks in at 14.51 MB, and is available for OS X 10.2.8 or 10.3.X. BumperCar is available for order from the Freeverse Store or is available from fine Mac software retailers everywhere.
