ToySight Now Shipping

New York - December 29, 2003 - Freeverse Software is proud to announce that ToySight, the first camera-controlled entertainment software for the Mac, is now shipping to retailers and from the Freeverse Store. The game should be hitting the shelves of Apple Stores and other retailers across the country within the next few days. All preorders are being filled as quickly as possible, and copies of the game will also be available at MacWorld San Francisco next week.

ToySight features a dozen interactive games and toys for one or two players. Instead of using a joystick, mouse, or keyboard, players maneuver themselves in front of an iSight or other firewire camera to control the action. The players are superimposed transparently onto the game screen, and must use arm and hand motions to play the games.

ToySight requires a computer running Mac OS X, as well as a camera that uses the FireWire serial bus, such as Apple's iSight webcam. The software carries a suggested retail price of US $34.95. A one-game demo is available at the ToySight homepage, which can be found at http://www.toysight.com/

MacGamer Reviews Burning Monkey Casino

Sixten Otto of MacGamer recently reviewed Burning Monkey Casino, and needless to say, we think he liked it.

It's very rare to find a game that is totally flawless, even among the legends of the industry. But if Freeverse Software's Burning Monkey Casino has a flaw, it's simply that there's not more of it.

Done carelessly, these games have become fodder for countless cheap-feeling shareware titles. The craftsmanship evident in [Burning Monkey] Casino, from the moment the game starts up, lifts it above all of that junk to sheer gaming pleasure. Each of the game modules is impeccably implemented, loaded with options and the whole title oozes atmosphere.

This is a solid, well-crafted title that is perfect for whiling away a break at the office or relaxing after a tough day. It's a light, entertaining game that doesn't grow stale after a few plays.

With an overall score of 99%, Burning Monkey Casino ties a certain other well-known title on MacGamer's reviews. Be sure to read the full review today!

Freeverse Announces BumperCar

If you're a concerned parent who wants to have a little more say in where your child can go on the World Wide Web, we've got the web browser for you.

Freeverse Software is proud to announce BumperCar, the most intelligent kid-friendly web browser available.

Formerly known as Project ChewToy, BumperCar is an incredible mix of technology and design. Under the hood it uses WebCore and OmniWeb. WebCore is the same engine used by Safari, so web sites load, and load fast! Freeverse has licensed the award winning OmniWeb browser from the OmniGroup to ensure BumperCar's frame is both feature rich and an outstanding Mac OS X Cocoa application. Then, of course, Freeverse has brought it all together -- we've added the smart and fun features to make both parents and kids happy.

BumperCar supports Internet Content Rating Association self-rated sites, has a built-in profanity filter, whitelists, and much more. It can even enforce a time limit, and can prevent uploading of personal data.

On top of that, it comes with a number of games and other kid-friendly content built-in. We're planning on showing it at MacWorld San Francisco in January, so watch our web site for details.
